Principal's Message

Happy Education Week to everyone.

Education Week gives us a great opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the great things about public education and to celebrate our school and those that support it. This year’s theme is ‘Lifelong Learners’ and although we cannot showcase our regular celebrations here at school, we did have a wonderful ‘Lifelong Learners’ display at the Wagga Marketplace for everyone to go down and take a look at. Thank you to the wonderful teachers that helped put our display together. Book Week is usually held during or shortly after Education Week.

This term however, due to COVID restrictions, we have made the decisions to push our Book Week celebrations back into Term 4 in the hope that we will be able to allow parents to visit the school and be part of the book parade and book week festivities. We will keep you up to date regarding this exciting change.

Over the next few weeks we have the Life Education Van visiting our school. Life Education’s vision is to empower our children and young people to make safer and healthier choices through education. We know from past history that students have loved visiting the van and seeing ‘Healthy Harold’ and we know this vision will continue through to our students and they will have a fantastic and enjoyable time. A big thanks to our generous P & C committee who have kindly subsidised half of the cost for every student in the school. You will also notice that attendance will be another one of our big focus areas over the coming weeks and terms.

Did you know that by missing 2-3 days per week that your child could miss up to nearly half a year of school! Obviously, we are still under COVID restrictions so if your child is sick they are required to stay at home, but if they are well and able to come to school it certainly makes a difference!

Finally – Our Kindergarten students celebrated 100 days of Kindergarten today. They looked fantastic and they’ve certainly had a wonderful day. We are also still taking enrolments for Kindergarten for next year. If you have a child starting school or know of someone starting school next year, please do contact the school as soon as possible so that we have your information.

Remember our school vision: Make it count – Every student, every teacher, every minute, every day!

 Have a great week!
